Course overview:

The Managing Stress Course is a three-week online programme designed to help you understand and manage stress in your daily life. Each session lasts about 60 to 90 minutes and is held once a week. This course uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to provide practical, evidence-based tools for reducing stress and improving your mood.

Course objectives:

The main goal of this course is to help you develop skills to manage stress more effectively, handle difficult thoughts, and improve your emotional well-being. By learning these techniques, you’ll be better equipped to face life’s challenges, reduce the impact of stress, and build a healthier mind-set. These tools will support you in achieving a better balance and a more positive outlook.

What does the course cover?

In the first session, you’ll learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and understand how it affects your mind and body. You’ll also be introduced to helpful models like the “Stress Bucket,” along with other basic techniques for managing stress that can be used daily.

The second session focuses on managing worry and practising relaxation techniques, helping you develop strategies to lower stress and improve mental resilience.

In the final session, you’ll explore ways to cope with difficult thoughts through self-compassion and flexible thinking, learning how to respond to challenges in healthier ways and improve the relationship between your thoughts and feelings.

By attending this course, you’ll gain valuable tools to reduce stress and worry and learn how to build mental resilience. You’ll develop self-compassion and practise relaxation techniques that can be applied whenever you feel stressed. Additionally, the course provides a chance to learn and share experiences with others facing similar challenges, allowing you to learn and grow within a supportive environment.

After the course, you’ll receive a one-to-one follow-up call to check in, receive feedback on the course, answer any questions you may have and discuss what next steps are appropriate to continue your progress and development.

What to expect?

This course offers a private and interactive learning experience designed to help you engage fully with the material. Although sessions are conducted in a group setting, it’s not traditional group therapy, and you won’t be required to share personal details. Your microphone and camera will remain off to ensure a confidential and focused environment. During each session, you’ll participate in interactive tasks that reinforce key concepts, and you’ll have activities to complete between sessions to help you put these skills into practice. This approach provides a supportive, guided space for personal growth at your own pace.
